ExcelPlas - EPDM Liner Training Day 21 August 2015
Presented by Firestone BP (www.firestonebpe.com) and Lining Solutions (www.liningsolutions.com.au)

Multiaxial Testing on EPDM Video: https://youtu.be/esalyq-xieI

Multiaxial Elongation = [(Lf - Lo) / Lo] x 100%

Sliced Pizza Failure Pattern:
This failure mode demonstrates the EPDM material has uniform properties in all directions (i.e. exhibits isotropic behaviour) and there is no preferential direction of weakness. Furthermore no yielding or thinning of the EPDM sample is observable indicating it displays full elastic recovery. In contrast, HDPE liners fail preferentially along the machine direction and exhibit a cat’s eye failure pattern which is in the shape of an elliptical hole centrally disposed and necked down and thinned around the edges of the hole because of the yielding phenomena.
